A mum has shared her clever DIY trick for making her dining room look more expensive and classy.
Paula Roach posted some before-and-after snaps of the easy hack to Facebook – and fellow DIY fans went wild.
The business owner has always been creative – she makes handmade baby and toddler clothing for her business, Daisy and P Handmade.

In the photos, Paula transforms her boring white wall into a feature by building faux-panelling onto the wall.

The mum captioned the post: “I did it!
“Some of you will have seen my post and my rubbish drawing, but here’s the before, during and after!”
Paula walked Daily Star Online through her DIY project.
She said: “I already had the level and saw and left over paint from my living room.
“The wood was cut into 8cm wide strips and I used them to make the frame first.
“I then followed by adding the two vertical middle strips and then the smaller in between pieces.”
Paula continued: “After a few hours I wood filled the joints (which I also had left over) then caulked the inside of the squares and sanded ready to be painted.”
Paula, from York, got the MDF for £14, No Nails adhesive for £4 and caulk for £2 – all from B&Q.
She painted the finished products a pretty, understated grey called Egyptian Cotton, by Dulux.
The dining table, which she already owned, is from IKEA.
In total, the mum spent around £20 on her creation.
What a fab, and cheap, way to brighten up a room!
Paula added: “It was super easy and my mum did help with the first bit. I kind of needed reassurance.
“It’s pretty basic, though, and I believe if anyone is determined to try it they should as it’s so much simpler than it looks and didn’t take long at all.”
She continued: “I’d never used decorators caulk but it wasn’t difficult to get used to.
“I really enjoyed doing it and seeing it come together as I was worried I’d make a mess of it especially as I’d just had the walls all plastered!”
A whopping 7.2k people liked Paula’s post – meaning it proved popular!
One person said: “You should be very proud of yourself – looks classy.”
“Looks gorgeous, I love it,” added another.
While a third said: “OMG I’m blown away, looks absolutely stunning!
“I would never have thought to do this… but I’m now going to do as well.”
Top job, Paula.
